Grateful, Thankful, Blessed: What It Means and a Shirt That Says It

“Grateful, thankful, blessed” names three sides of gratitude: grateful for what you have, thankful to the people who gave it, and blessed by the grace you didn't earn. It's become the phrase of Thanksgiving season because it says in three words what most of us are trying to feel at that table.

Is there a difference between grateful, thankful and blessed?

Is it a Bible verse?

The exact phrase isn't a verse, but the idea runs all through Scripture. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says “In every thing give thanks,” and Psalm 107:1 opens, “O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good.” That's why it feels at home on Thanksgiving and at the church potluck alike.
