“Faith can move mountains” comes from Matthew 17:20, where Jesus tells his disciples that faith as small as a mustard seed is enough to move a mountain. The point isn't the size of your faith but its object: even a little genuine trust in God can accomplish what looks impossible.

Matthew 17:20 (KJV): “And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”

The context

The disciples had just failed to heal a boy and asked Jesus why. His answer was about unbelief, not technique. Then he pointed to the smallest seed his listeners knew — the mustard seed — to show that real faith grows from something tiny.
